Almost 90 percent of
American households make less than $149,999. While many people work
their entire lives to climb the corporate ladder of success, some people
just climb faster than others.
That’s why FindTheCompany, a corporate research site powered Graphiq, found the 40 highest-paid CEOs under 40. The data experts used 2015 data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to rank the CEOs by their total reported compensation* for the year 2015; due to the timing of data collection, it’s possible that some individuals on our list may no longer be CEOs.
The reported compensation ranges from just under $300,000 to over $8 million, with the highest paid CEO on our list receiving a salary that is an outlier by several million dollars. Several entries on the list are expected, including CEOs from Fitbit, Facebook, Box and Xo Group, although some are from companies without obvious household names. Only one woman, Lynn Jurich of Sunrun, is included in this highest bracket for CEO compensation. Click through our list to explore further.
*These heads of publically-traded companies are required by law to report their compensation. Total compensation is the sum of salary, bonuses, restricted stock awards, security underlying options, long term incentive plan payouts, option awards, non-equity incentive plan compensation, change in pension value and non-disqualified compensation earnings and all other compensation.
