Can your marriage survive without sexual attraction?
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is set to premiere Sunday, and star Cynthia Bailey drops a bomb in the Season 8 debut.“Are you attracted to Peter, even with his clothes off?” Bailey’s sister, Malorie, asks the 47-year-old reality TV star.

It’s a scenario that, unfortunately, is all too familiar for many married couples.
“The reason that many couples first get together is based on physical attraction,” Moshe Ratson, founder of spiral2grow Marriage & Family Therapy, tells The Post. “However, as time passes, one may gain weight, so that is one reason the attraction fades.”
A licensed marriage and family therapist for 15 years, Ratson says that this behavior is more prevalent in men than in women. But that’s changing as women gain more sexual freedom.
“Historically, physical appearance is more [important] to the man. But more and more you see this becoming an issue for women as well,” says Ratson.
Does that mean a possible divorce could be in the story line for Bailey and Thomas?
Ratson doesn’t think so.
Just because a couple are no longer physically attracted to each other does not mean that they will divorce and part ways.“Just because a couple are no longer physically attracted to each other does not mean that they will divorce and part ways,” he says.

Even Bailey can differentiate between lust and love.
“Physical attraction is important, but I am more attracted to Peter’s mind,” she says to her sister in the premiere.
That’s a statement Ratson can get behind.
“Overall, it is the emotional connectivity [that matters] in marriage,” he concludes.
