Look younger with these nine tips from Yahoo Beauty Editor in Chief Bobbi Brown. (Photo: Ben Ritter)
You
don’t need a pricey cream or a trip to the dermatologist to make you
look younger. It can be as simple as just making a few quick changes.
Here’s how.
Hydrate:
When you are dehydrated, lines are enhanced and your skin looks dull.
Drinking at least eight glasses of water a day should be your target. If
you need to be reminded to hydrate, try an app like Waterlogged, which will ping you when it’s time drink up.
Moisturize: To
plump skin and fill in fine lines, try layering moisturizers. Start
with a serum, then pat a moisturizer on top. For extra-dewy skin, finish
with a facial oil.
Brighten up:
Under-eye circles add years to your face. Cover them up by using a
corrector to neutralize and counteract any discoloration. Concealer will
cover up darkness and brighten up your eye area to give you an instant
lift.
Lighten up:
As you age, most women need less coverage. Swap foundation for a tinted
moisturizer that gives an extra boost of hydration and lets your skin
show through.
Gloss:
Did you know your hair ages too, becoming dryer and losing its luster? A
gloss will condition and add shine to your hair. Apply every three to
four weeks either at the salon or with an at-home treatment.
Whiten teeth: Over time, your teeth can yellow or turn gray. At home whitening kits make it easy to remove stains and take years off.
Wear skinny jeans: Jeans are cool at any age, no matter what size you are. My favorites are Rag & Bone and AG.
Update your shoes: There is something about a pair of slip on sneakers with a thick heel (my favorites are Ash & Opening Ceremony) that updates everything from black pants to jeans.
Wear short, dark nails: French manicures or long red nails look dated. What’s fresh right now are short, dark nails in unconventional colors.
